Freeze Out Cancer for Kids with a Scoop of Amy’s

On September 14, 2015 Amy’s Ice Creams on Burnet Road will donate 20% of the entire day’s sales to the Curing Children’s Cancer Fund (CCCfund). September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the CCCfund exclusively provides funding to pediatric cancer research. Amy’s Ice Creams and Phil’s Icehouse at 5624 Burnet Road in Austin will donate 20% of each purchase to the CCCfund when customers mention the fundraiser at check out.

The all-day ice cream social and fundraiser launched with a full-on “hash out” campaign linked to the hashtag #freezeoutcancer4kids. The social media savvy were asked to submit their flavor combination that will help raise funds to “Freeze out cancer for kids!”

“A family from the CCCfund will have the fun task of deciding the final flavor for the Amy’s flavor board so others can order it throughout the day,” said Mallori Ramey, Executive Director of the CCCfund. “It’s exciting to see a sweet take on this important message. Our mission is to turn the lights on childhood cancer, and these funds bring us one step closer.”

The CCCfund’s mission is to find a cure for childhood cancer by providing financial support to the world’s leading pediatric cancer researchers. Since 2007 the CCCfund has raised more than $1,000,000 to support childhood cancer research across the US and the world.

“Although there have been great strides in the past 30 years to finding a cure, it’s just simply not good enough,” said Ramey. “Childhood cancer kills more U.S. children than any other disease – more than AIDS, asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and congenital anomalies, combined.”
